Majestic Redwoods

On our second day in San Francisco  we went to Muir Woods to see the majestic redwoods!  Yes, they are called red woods because of their red bark.  A neat fact about redwoods is that they grow in families, meaning they grow in groups together.  Muir Woods is located just north of the city.  We enjoyed a whole morning and lunch picnic there before making our way over the Golden Gate Bridge in time for our afternoon Alcatraz tour (next post).  Enjoy the beauty!
